If photos on the memory stick were lost due to deletion, formatting, or memory stick damage, error or unreadable, CardRecovery software is able to help you recover them in most cases.
Steps to recover the lost photos from a memory stick:
Step 1: Click here to download CardRecovery to your computer.
Step 2: Run the downloaded cardrecovery_setup.exe and follow the instruction to install the software on your computer. The software has both Windows and Mac versions.
Step 3: Launch CardRecovery from the Start Menu -> Programs -> CardRecovery -> CardRecovery.
Step 4: CardRecovery uses a wizard-style user interface. In Step 1, you may choose your digital camera brand (mostly, it should be Sony since you are recovering pictures from a memory stick).
CardRecovery supports both JPG and SRF (Sony Raw Image Format) files.
Step 5: CardRecovery will perform a full scan on your memory stick and list the recoverable pictures. It will allow you to preview and select the needed photos before saving.
Note:
CardRecovery performs read-only operations on your source memory stick, and saves the recovered pictures to your hard drive. It is safe and easy.
A memory stick card reader is needed if your camera does not appear as a drive letter in "My Computer".
CardRecovery supports EXIF information retrieval so you won't lose the shot date/time and other valuable photo data.
Besides recovering photos from digital cameras and camcorders, CardRecovery can also be used to restore deleted photos from Memory Stick Micro (M2) which is used by cellular phones and mobile phones (mostly Sony Ericsson).
