Like other professional camera manufacturers, Canon has its own raw image file format with extension name .CR2 and .CR3. All Canon cameras with a Digic 8 or later Processor may use the CR3 file formats.
Raw file is the image format. It is the most original image signal data obtained by the camera sensor. It records more information than the general image file like JPG, so the post production space is relatively large. However, it needs to be output into a directly viewable image format, such as JPEG, through computer software.
Image software programs like Canon Digital Photo Professional, and Photoshop supports processing the CR2 and CR3 image files. There are also third-party downloadable or online tools available to convert the CR2/CR3 files to JPG/TIF.
CardRecovery software is a SD card recovery software to recover lost photos and videos from camera SD cards. Besides the most common image format is JPEG (JPG), CardRecovery also supports various raw image format files from Canon, Nikon and other camera brands.
